Chelsea transfer news: The Blues remain locked in talks with Brighton for Moises Caicedo and now a possible breakthrough in the transfer saga has come to light
With that switch now on the verge of happening, it could hint that Brighton may be willing to lower their demands in order to sell Caicedo this summer. Kudus would not be a direct replacement for Caicedo, but his versatility allows him to play in midfield alongside his favoured position which tends to be on the right-hand side.
The Seagulls have already welcomed James Milner and Mahmoud Dahoud as midfield acquisitions which could soften the blow of losing Caicedo. However, it has been noted by Romano that an agreement for Caicedo to Chelsea is not yet in place as the Italian journalist tweeted: "keep an eye on Caicedo now that Brighton invested on Kudus. That’s it. Negotiations ongoing."
More talks look set to take place next week with Chelsea perhaps having renewed confidence they are getting closer to agreeing a transfer now that Brighton have made their formal move for Kudus.
