Kylian Mbappe made headlines after PSG's Champions League exit at the mercy of Borussia Dortmund. The French star was left on the doorstep of another final and, to his team's misfortune, he was not as decisive and important as expected throughout the tie.
The Frenchman was asked in the mixed zone if this was his last game for the Parisians in the Champions League, to which he replied bluntly: "This season, for sure".
"It’s long process to win the Champions League and I’m sure PSG are not far from that. We are sad tonight, we’re disappointed," he continued.
He also assured that there was no overconfidence: "Absolutely not. If we don't convince ourselves that we can win, who will do it for us? No one. I don't think that's the problem, the group was calm as it has been since the start of the season. It's football. We'll keep working and we'll try to win it".
He also took stock of the season: "I think that if we take stock of this campaign, taking into account the project which was new, quite a few new players, young players and most of them having experience at a big club for the first time, I think it's not too bad".
"This season we had shown that we were capable of going far," Mbappe concluded.
