Northern Ireland Football League Chief Executive Gerard Lawlor has made an impassioned plea for fans to stop bringing pyrotechnics or flares to games, insisting they can cause life threatening injuries and he has issued a strong warning that, if this behaviour continues, clubs will face the deduction of points or have stadiums closed.
Supporters using flares or pyrotechnics inside Irish League grounds has become an increasingly concerning issue in recent times, leading to fines for several clubs this season.
