Nunez later made his introduction from the bench in the 75th minute as Klopp called on him to replace fatigues Colombian star Luis Dias.
His appearance on the field of play coincided with Tottenham's best patch of the game as they scored twice through Richarlison and captain Son Heung-min to reduce the deficit and set-up a nervy ending.
Meanwhile, Nunez wasted chances in front of goal that would have killed the game off and looked unhappy with himself in the immediate aftermath of the game.
