Ireland international Chiedozie Ogbene could make a comeback to aid the final furlong of Luton Town’s survival bid.
The Hatters are a point adrift of safety with three games to go, with games against Everton, West Ham United and Luton Town critical to whether their fairytale Premier League season can be extended.
Corkman Ogbene had been a regular for Rob Edwards until he damaged his tendon during Ireland’s scoreless draw against Belgium in late March.
The Corkman was withdrawn from the international squad ahead of the second part of the double-header against Switzerland on Tuesday.
Luton will need all their resources to achieve the mission of avoiding a drop straight back to the Championship and the winger is edging closer to being available.
"There’s still a chance for Chieo by the end of the season,” said Luton boss Edwards ahead of Friday’s visit of the Toffees, who themselves guaranteed safety on Sunday.
"But he’s certainly way off at the moment. He was out on the grass on his own.
“If anyone else from our injury list can come back it is probably him. But it is going to be touch and go.”
