Piers Morgan blasts Mikel Arteta for two costly mistakes at Arsenal - "Another c***-up!"

Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has hit out at Mikel Arteta for destabilising the goalkeeping situation and for failing to sign a quality forward in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners came painfully close to winning the title last season but were beaten to the prize by serial trophy collectors Manchester City. Arteta splashed the cash this summer landing, among others, Declan Rice and David Raya.

And while Morgan is happy with the Rice signing, he believes that Raya isn't an improvement on Aaron Ramsdale and that Arsenal are lacking up front with only injury-prone Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah to call upon.

Morgan told talkSPORT: "I still don't get the Raya thing in goal. On the goal that should never have been allowed, he made yet another c***-up. Aaron Ramsdale is watching week after week.

Is Raya showing anyone he is an upgrade from Ramsdale? I don't think he is. I think unfortunately all the pressure was created entirely by Arteta, who said he was going to have two number ones. Nobody believed that when he said it, and it is clear he thinks Raya is his number one.

"I don't think most Arsenal fans look at this situation still confident in our goalkeeper. So he [Arteta] has managed to destabilise the goalkeeper situation; he hasn't bought a world-class striker, and I think these are big question marks on Arteta.

"If he really looked at last season when we choked the title and thought, how do we go and win the title? Getting Declan Rice was brilliant, but he did not get a striker, and he has c***** up the goalkeeper thing.

"Personally, I would bring back Ramsdale with a point to prove. I think he is a better goalkeeper. I don't care what fancy footwork Raya does; if he can't stop goals, then I am afraid he should not be in
