Leinster fans could be set to face major travel issues should they overcome Northampton Saints and qualify for the Champions Cup final at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on May 25.
The European decider is set to kick-off at the London venue at 2.45pm, with the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United doing likewise at 3pm on the same date, the Football Association confirmed on Tuesday.
In a repeat of last year’s final, holder City will play rival United at Wembley Stadium.
The FA said the kickoff time had been agreed with both clubs, the local authority, safety advisory group and broadcasters.
The 12 mile distance between the two major event destinations could cause major issues for not only police, but for both rugby and football fans alike.
The issue of flight availability from Dublin is also likely to be an issue, with thousands of Leinster fans expected to make the journey across to London should they beat Northampton at Croke Park on May 4, with thousands of football fans likely to travel for the Wembley affair.
