Ahead of their important Premier League home game versus Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday (May 4), Manchester City were dealt a huge blow as goalkeeper Ederson is set to miss the game due to injury concerns. Ederson was subbed off at half-time in his side's 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest last weekend after sustaining a shoulder injury following a collision with Wily Boly of Nottingham. He didn't make a return and later left the stadium in a sling.
While the Athletic, via GOAL, has stated that Ederson's injury isn't very serious and he is expected to return during the end of the Premier League season, he is likely to miss the upcoming game versus the Wolves — due to the lack of gap between the two games.

The Cityzens will feel the 30-year-old's absence as they seek an unprecedented Premier League four-peat. Currently, the Pep Guardiola-led side is enjoying a mammoth 19-match unbeaten streak — winning 15 — since their 1-0 loss at Aston Villa in December. Since a goalless draw versus leaders Arsenal, at home, they have won their last five encounters as they remain in contention to claim the title.
City are a point behind Arsenal, i.e. the Gunners, in the Premier League standings with a game in hand as well. Thus, the upcoming games for the Cityzens are very crucial to surpass the Gunners.
Speaking of Ederson, he has featured in 30 games this season, keeping 11 clean sheets.
City will be eager to claim the Premier League title, having been out of the UEFA Champions League with a narrow loss to Real Madrid in the quarterfinals recently.
