Chelsea’s legendary defender Thiago Silva has confirmed his desire to leave the club in the summer as he calls time on his four-year stint at the West London club. Silva on Monday (April 29) took to Chelsea's social media handle and confirmed his desire to leave. The Brazilian is now expected to return to his native nation with Fluminense having won the UEFA Champions League, Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup during his stay at the club.

«Chelsea means a lot to me, I came here with the intention of staying for only one year and it ended up being four years, not just for me but for my family too.»
«My sons play for Chelsea so it is a source of great pride to be a part of the Chelsea family literally because my sons are here. I hope they can continue their careers here at this victorious club that many players wish to be a part of. I think everything I did here over the four years, I always gave my all but unfortunately everything has a start, a middle and an end,» Silva said in his farewell message on Chelsea's X handle.
Expected to leave at the end of the season, Silva’s decision to leave did not come as a surprise to many. He first played for the club in 2020 having made a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in August. In his first season with the club, he helped Chelsea win the Champions League title including an impressive show against Real Madrid in the semifinal.
