Manchester United will have a huge summer to decide the future of several personalities at the club as the 20-time English champions go through another phase of transition. In January 2022, a criminal procedure was opened in England on Greenwood with him being implicated in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault relating to a woman after images and videos were posted online. Immediately after the case, United opted to drop Greenwood from the first team despite him being one of the players in top form for the club.
