Eduardo Camavinga trained ahead of Real Madrid’s LaLiga game against Athletic Club on Sunday 31 March (KO 3pm ET/12 noon PT.). The Frenchman set alarm bells ringing during the week as he limped off the pitch before half-time in France’s game against Chile, which the Europeans won 3-2.
However, the midfielder returned to the Spanish capital and trained just 48 hours ahead of the game against Madrid’s Basque opponents. It was feared that he would be unavailable both against Athletic and in Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against Manchester City, which will take place on April 9: now, those fears have calmed.
English midfielder Jude Bellingham also trained with the group ahead of the match day 30 game in LaLiga, with the ex-Dortmund player sparking fears over his fitness given his lack of game time in the lead-up to the break. Bellingham was sent off in Real Madrid’s 2-2 draw against Valencia, causing him to miss the ties against Celta Vigo (4-0) and Osasuna (2-4).
Bellingham played the full 90 minutes against England’s opponents Belgium, and continued his fine form in front of goa, this season, scoring a 90th minute equaliser against the team that also drew 0-0 against the Republic of Ireland in the recent break.
All of the players who went away on international duty, apart from the ones mentioned, returned without any concern regarding their fitness. Fede Valverde played for Uruguay and trained as normal: he is expected to start the game.
Madrid will be without Vinicius Jr, however, who picked up another yellow card - his fifth for the season - against Osasuna, meaning he will sit the game out. Another
