He embarrassed Bernardo Silva by standing tall and catching his brave chip, before getting down low to keep Mateo Kovacic out and hand his teammates the chance to win the tie. Lunin was under pressure all game but never buckled once.
The man who scored the winning penalty was typically excellent in defence and perhaps merited a higher rating, but unfortunately it was his clearance which landed at the feet of Kevin De Bruyne for City's equaliser.
Nevertheless, Rudiger's monstrous handling of Erling Haaland will once again go down in history. Haaland even made a clear effort to keep away from the German, such was his dominant performance.
Look, let's not act like this was a bad performance from Dani Carvajal, because it really wasn't.
However, across the entire game, almost all of City's threat came down his side. Jack Grealish enjoyed the first half and it was Jeremy Doku's introduction which ultimately led to the equaliser. Carvajal did all he could.
