Brahim Diaz is the talk of the town after his decision to play for Morocco instead of Spain. He gave an interview to 'Esquire', where he assured that the affection shown by the African team was key.
"I had to decide and for a long time they showed me affection. I have roots in Morocco and now it's up to me to show on the pitch and repay their trust," he declared in favour of the 'Lions of Atlas'.
Despite everything, Brahim Diaz had positive words for Spain: "I'm also very grateful to them. This doesn't change anything. I've worn the national team shirt and I want them to do as well as possible. I've felt a lot of affection from the people and I respect their opinions".
Beyond that, he also recalled his signing for Real Madrid: "I said it at the time, at my presentation: there were more offers but I don't remember any because in my head I only had three options: Madrid, Madrid and Madrid. That was always my objective".
As for the pressure, Brahim Diaz was all about having a clear head: "Real Madrid is very demanding, but in that case I like it and I'm grateful for that pressure, that's what being at the best club in the world is all about.
