Richarlison believes that Ange Postecoglou will be «putting together a much more competitive team» at Tottenham next season. Arriving in north London last June with Spurs needing to get back on track after a couple of dismal years, the Australian made an instant impact at the club and had the Lilywhites at the top of the Premier League table.
Results have tailed off since November, with the team losing their last four Premier League fixtures to put Aston Villa in such a good position to secure Champions League football for next season. Given the results, performances and goals Spurs have conceded in recent weeks, Postecoglou has come under fire from some Tottenham fans.
Since taking on the job, the 58-year-old has talked a number of times about the team having to go through tough times in order to improve as a club in the long run. Tottenham are indeed going through those tough times right now, with Postecoglou stating ahead of Sunday's defeat at Liverpool that «change has to happen» if they are to progress.
Following those comments from the Spurs head coach, those words were put to Richarlison and the attacker delivered his thoughts on the season to date and what's to come next.
“Look, we presented a much more dynamic and, let's say, more elegant and beautiful football than last season," the 26-year-old told ESPN Brasil. «But we have evolved, we have evolved a lot and I believe that.
»As of this week, it has already been announced that the coach will make changes, so I believe that next season he will be putting together a much more competitive team."
