Borussia Dortmund have a mission on Tuesday. They have to make good the slender lead they gained in Germany less than a week ago to reach their first Champions League final in more than a decade.
Dortmund are said to be impressed by the atmosphere in their stadium, especially in the stands where the great tifos that have so often distressed opponents are performed. It was a kind of impassable wall that frightened opponents.
But nothing could be further from the truth, Borussia Dortmund's great wall has a name and a surname. It is the Swiss goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. The Swiss is the goalkeeper who has kept the most clean sheets in the 2023/24 Champions League. He has done so on a total of five occasions, including the first leg.
That's what Borussia Dortmund are clinging on for a place in the Champions League final 2023/24, on another great night from Kobel, who is having the best season of his career.
