Roma will only move for Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin if they are allowed to thrash out a deal on their terms.
The Englishman was linked with a move to the Giallorossi yesterday morning and Marco Conterio has reported today that Roma have been offered the chance to sign the England international and that is how the interest emerged. They could now potentially consider a move because of FIGC’s announcement yesterday about the fact that British players will be considered EU players.
But Jose Mourinho’s side would only consider a move if they they could sign him on an initial loan deal with the option to sign him permanently later on. It remains to be seen Everton would like a deal like that this summer.
Apart from Calvert-Lewin, another potential alternative for the striker’s role for Roma happens to be Leicester City’s Patson Daka. A move for Alvaro Morata now looks more and more unlikely, with the Roman side exploring alternatives.
