Roy Keane slammed Manchester United's first-half performance against Liverpool before a second-half fightback saw the game end 2-2

The Red Devils failed to have a shot on target in a first-half league match at Old Trafford for the first time since October 2015. It left United staring at a record 13th Premier League defeat of the season after Luis Diaz's goal. And Keane pointed out the chances Liverpool missed during the first 45 minutes at Old Trafford, calling his former club "average."

However, he correctly predicted that whilst the score was 1-0, United would have a chance, with Bruno Fernandes equalising moments into the second half before Kobbie Mainoo's stunning strike put United 2-1 up. Mohamed Salah then went on to equalise from the penalty spot after a poor tackle from Aaron-Wan Bissaka.

"Within the first five or ten minutes Liverpool got a grip of it, dominated the game, should be two or three nil up," Keane said on Sky Sports at half-time.

"They’ve let United off the hook at this moment in time. They’ve gotta take these other chances or they will regret it at the end of the season - the game is there for the taking. United have been so average in every aspect of the game. It is one nil, they’re still in it."

And Keane's warning to Liverpool came true, as an under-pressure United fought back against their fierce rivals despite being dominated during the first 45 minutes. "Honestly, I can’t believe what I’m watching," he said after the match.
