Kaizer Chiefs thumped Stellenbosch FC 4-0 to move tot the top of the DStv Diski Challenge table this past weekend. Donay Jansen continued with his impressive form, netting a brace on the day to take his tally to six goals in four outings this season.
Siphesihle Tati and Neo Bohloko scored the other two goals for Amakhosi.
The victory saw Amakhosi reach 10 points after four matches and moved tot the top of the Diski Challenge table.
They have same number of points with Orlando Pirates, Royal AM, Sekhukhune United and TS Galaxy, who are second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.
Amakhosi are occupying the top spot due to superior goal difference. Talking after the match Amakhosi mentor Vela Khumalo warned his charges to not get carried away as it is still early days.
“We are happy with the posirive results but there are still some areas of concern. I feel like upfront we still need to improve,” said Khumalo.
“This is a good start but I told the players to not get carried away, this is a marathon , we still have a lot of games to play. At the moment we will need to be consistent.”
Chiefs next assignment they will travel to Polokwane where they will face off with Polokwane City at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.
In other Diski Challenge weekend results, Royal AM were held to a 2-2 by Sekhukhune United in a top of the table clash.
The two sides went to the weekend sitting in position one and two respectively. Sekhukhune failed to protect a 2-0 lead and allowed Royal AM to score two goals in the second half to secure a point in the match.
