Everton continued their preparations for the new season with a 0-0 draw against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night.
After a double-header of friendlies against Wigan Athletic and Tranmere Rovers on Saturday, Sean Dyche opted to freshen things up at the Toughsheet Community Stadium. The Blues ended up using 21 players during the course of the 90 minutes, with only Joao Virginia completing the full game.
In an open and end-to-end first half, both sides had chances to take the lead, with Alex Iwobi missing two glorious openings to fire the Blues ahead, while Lewis Dobbin was also denied by Nathan Baxter in the Bolton goal. At the other end, Dion Charles was denied by Virginia, with the Everton goalkeeper also keeping out efforts from Randell Williams and Carlos Mendes Gomes during the match.

It might have only been a friendly, but that didn't stop Blues boss Dyche from showing emotion on the sideline.
First, there was a conversation with fourth official Declan Brown after Dobbin was on the receiving end of a challenge by Ricardo Almeida Santos. And then, not long after, the Everton manager was left with his hands on his head.
After some neat play down the right, Nathan Patterson attempted to play the ball back inside looking for Andre Gomes; however, the pass was cut out, and Bolton quickly broke away. Thankfully, the attack came to nothing, but that didn’t stop Dyche from standing with his hands on his head as he watched the action.
