Sean Dyche believes his side are beginning to answer the questions that Everton fans ask of them after a fourth win in their last five away matches.
Everton were twice pegged back by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park but secured the three points through substitute Idrissa Gueye’s 86th-minute goal.
Dyche, speaking after the 3-2 victory, said: “It’s a work in progress, it’s not a given. Since we’ve got here it’s taken time and work from the players.

“I’ve said it all my career as a manager, you can only offer guidance, you can guide players to where they’ve got to be but they’ve got to own it and I think they are and this group are beginning to go, ‘we know we can play.’ There’s real talent, I’m convinced of that and I’ve seen it but what about when it’s not your day, the hard yards and the ugly stuff, that’s the questions that have been asked of Everton over the past couple of seasons.
“‘Are they soft? Can they play hard?’ These sort of questions. We’re making strides towards changing that. I’ve spoken openly to say it’s our job to do that and we’re beginning to do that, it will take time but we’re beginning to show strong signs that we can change this story.”
Dyche was also pleased with the manner his team bounced back twice after conceding what looked like a soft penalty and then a lapse in concentration. He said: “That’s something the group are beginning to realise without a doubt. They know the Premier League and the away record we’ve spoken about is changing.
