The 37-year-old left Paris Saint-Germain when his contract concluded at the end of June, and there were strong speculations about a potential move to Saudi Arabia earlier in the summer.
Interest from Major League Soccer (MLS) was also rumoured. However, Ramos has now finalised his return to Sevilla, marking a homecoming 18 years after his departure from Estadio Ramon to join Real Madrid.
Ramos was presented to the Sevilla faithful. 23,000 fans packed into the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan to welcome the veteran defender home, who broke down in tears when presented.
Ramos became emotional when talking about his return to Estadio Ramon and confessed to having regrets about his departure from the club.
The former Spain captain also expressed remorse for his celebration in front of the Sevilla supporters in 2018 when he scored against them.
