Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley hopes talking points over his contract can be settled
Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley expects to get some clarity on his contract situation next week, adding that he hopes to “get everything in motion for next year”.
Bradley’s future at the club has been a talking point of late following recent links to Hibernian but, speaking ahead of their huge title clash against second-placed Derry City tonight, the Dubliner says that he hopes to have a decision by the middle of next week.
“We have a board meeting on Monday, and hopefully next week we can have some more clarity on the situation and get everything in motion for next year,” he explained.
“We’ve always had a plan. We have always been very clear with that plan. We’ll sit down on Monday as a group, staff and the board and have a chat about what we’re going to do. Hopefully, by the middle of next week, it’s all done and we can all push on and get stuck in.”
Ahead of tonight’s trip to the Brandywell, the Rovers supremo repeated his belief that fit-again midfielder Neil Farrugia has what it takes to play at the highest level.
“I felt up until this injury, he was the best player in the country,” said Bradley of Farrugia, who suffered the setback in their last clash with the Candystripes on June 26.
“You look at all his attributes, he’s made for top-level football, international football. He has all the attributes to play at the highest level.”
