Arsenal kits under Adidas have been a match made in heaven… nearly. Yes, I am still holding my own frustrations that the black away kit of last season which for me is the best strip the Gunners have ever worn was followed by the neon green(ish), yellow(ish) monstrosity that is this season’s second kit.
However, I and other fellow Arsenal supporters have been given some respite from the blinding of the away kit with another training kit that has been leaked. Footy Headlines have shown images of an upcoming collaboration with fashion brand Maharishi – a London-based company founded in 1994 which has a focus on camouflage which symbolises nature and art, respecting nature whilst utilising technology.
Arsenal and Adidas have partnered with a number of designers during their time together manufacturing the Arsenal kits. Stella McCartney has designed the Arsenal women’s away shirt for this season after the success of her collaboration last season.
The leaked Maharishi strip though is a training kit rather than a match shirt it should be said. However, Arsenal’s training kits have always been designed with the purpose of being played in so this shouldn’t discourage you from investing in this particular design, fearful that it cannot be played – it most certainly can.
The leaked images show us a glimpse of the shirt alongside a t-shirt and a couple of jackets. The shirt though features the camouflage typical greens, browns, blacks and tan colours in what looks an almost snake-skin-like effect.
Napoli once wore a camouflage away shirt with their typical light blue accents around it. Certainly, the Maharishi design is much more modern, crisp and fashionable than the Macron attempt with the Serie A club.
