Chelsea news as Thiago Silva has replied to a comment suggesting he should be dropped which could serve as a tactical message to Mauricio Pochettino
Following last Friday's victory over Luton Town at Stamford Bridge, the perfect building blocks had been laid down for the Blues to get another victory at home in their favourable fixture run-in. However, Forest put in a resolute defensive performance with a clinical finish from Anthony Elanga sealing all three points for the visitors.
"That is a process that you need to think a little bit about to give time," he said. "I think today we created chances, we dominated the game but we were not clinical enough in the last third. We should score, if you want to win and we made one mistake and concede. Not frustrated but disappointed because in this process you need luck. I don't want to take credit from Nottingham Forest. That mistake arrived in midfield with Conor Gallagher and Moises Caicedo attempting to play quick passes before it was intercepted by Taiwo Awoniyi who played a pass through the legs of Silva for Elanga to finish.
Silva's role in the goal conceded did spark an online debate over his place in the team with one fan calling for him to be dropped, something that Silva promptly responded to.
In reply to the post on Instagram, Silva said: "If you look closely at the game, we are playing with a line of 4 my friend! But there's no problem in assuming that I'm also responsible for the defeat. put the pressure on me, *thumbs up emoji*, no problem yesterday!"
The first part of Silva's reply could be a message to Pochettino it may be time for some tactical tweaks to be made which sees Chilwell return to left-back and a traditional back four
