Liverpool supporters were ecstatic when Darwin Nunez powered in his injury-time winner against Newcastle United on Sunday, and none more than former Reds striker Jon Newby.
The 44-year-old began his Anfield career at the age of nine, going on to be a part of the 1996 FA Youth Cup winning squad as he scored against West Ham in that year's final.
He made four appearances in total for the Reds before departing on loan several times until a permanent move to Bury emerged in 2001. He would later return to the Kirkby Academy as a scout and youth coach at the end of a professional career comprising more than 300 matches at various levels in the English football pyramid.
Now Newby's latest activity was up in the gods at St. James' Park, where he was spotted amongst the travelling support for Sunday's match.

Taking to social media afterwards, Newby expressed his delight with the Uruguayan, the result - and the fact he was able to experience it all with his son.
"The best away celebrations I've been in given the state of the game," he stated. "I swear I will never forget the look in Josh's eyes when that winner went in & he jumped all over me."
The former striker also posted in defence of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who could have seen red in the opening minutes.
