The Queens Arms in Aintree is gearing up for the biggest day in its calendar with the launch of a brand new bar to handle the Grand National rush.
The Aintree pub, affectionately known as The Queens, on Warbreck Moor, is just a stone's throw away from the main entrance of the racecourse. The pub doubles its footprint over the three days with a marquee spanning the whole of the car park, fitted with a large container bar and the main stage for entertainment.
The Queens Arms is preparing for a decennial celebration on top of the usual Grand National rush, with the venue's manager, Wayne Reynolds, telling the ECHO the chaos is part of the charm of working there.

He said: "We went viral last year because of how busy we were - people enjoying the venue and having fun across the three days. The biggest thing for us is the Grand National Festival. We get our regulars who still come in over the three days but the atmosphere is a little different. It may look manic but everyone - staff and customers - really enjoy themselves. It's great to be a part of."
This year the pub is opening a brand new bar in its pool game area to relieve the main indoor area and converted Land Rover Defender bar in the rear beer garden. There are more options and facilities than ever before to ensure seamless service and the best experience for all.
