Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti praised Bayern Munich's attack after the 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, which he considered a good result, and acknowledged that in his team's best moment, they scored two goals against them.
"It's a good result. On a match level it could have been better. Our best moment was at the beginning of the second half, when they scored two goals. They are a very dangerous opponent who showed their best version. We have time to improve until next Wednesday," he said on 'Movistar+'.
"In the first half we defended with little intensity, we gave them too much chance to control the game. In the second half when they took the lead we were more aggressive. We lacked intensity in the duels, we lost a lot of them, but we fought and the tie is even. We have to suffer in an atmosphere that everyone knows", he added.
The Real Madrid coach highlighted the role of Brazilian Vinicius, scorer of a brace that earned his side the draw and a good result for the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu. ‘We managed the ball, we had possession, they put a lot of intensity on the pressure, they defended quite high and we took advantage with a fantastic move by Vinicius," he said after admitting that he changed Toni Kroos because he needed "more energy" and Jude Bellingham because he was suffering from cramp.
