Arsenal have already completed the majority of their summer transfer business - but Mikel Arteta has left the door open to the possibility of further arrivals at the Emirates Stadium ahead of next season. The Gunners have spent big after investing over £200million on the signings of Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz.
However, there have been few links to players that could come in and challenge Ben White at right-back. So, football.london has taken a look at three defenders that Arsenal could sign this summer to compete with the England international.
Joao Cancelo
Joao Cancelo is facing an uncertain future at Manchester City after reportedly falling out with Pep Guardiola last season. The Portuguese defender spent the second half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Bayern Munich and is not thought to be a part of Guardiola's plans next term.
As per Spanish outlet Sport, City would sanction an exit for Cancelo if an interested club pays €40million (£34.2m). The Telegraph stated earlier this year that Arsenal are in-fact interested in the Portugal international, although they fear that the Guardiola's side won't be so willing to sell to them this summer following deals to sign Jesus and Zinchenko 12 months ago.
Ivan Fresneda
Arsenal are said to have revived their interest in signing Fresneda this summer, as per a report from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo. The Gunners are claimed to be in a battle with Spanish giants Barcelona, with the two teams able to activate his release clause after Valladolid's relegation last
