Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler believes his side are in for a ‘tough’ encounter when they prepare to take on TS Galaxy in the DStv Premiership at the DHL Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Kick-off is at 3:00pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)
CURRENT FORM
City recently overcame a 10-match winless streak in the league following a 2-0 win against Moroka Swallows at the Athlone Stadium on the 7th of May. Two late goals by Darwin Gonzalez and Jaoquim Paciencia was enough for the Mother City based outfit to bag maximum points against the Dube Birds.
Prior to their victory against Swallows, City recorded six draws and four losses in 10 games and slumped down to 7th position on the table.
The Rockets have likewise struggled for form in the last couple of months and are currently winless in their last three fixtures. Galaxy last tasted victory during a 2-1 win against Swallows on the 26th of April as Siphiwe Mahlangu and Samir Nurkovic got their names on the scoresheet at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.
After accumulating 39 points after 26 matches, Galaxy will enter the next gameweek in 5th position on the table.
WHAT WAS SAID…
“We're going to push because I'm that type of coach, I want to win every game that I'm playing,” City coach Eric Tinkler said.
“So we want to make sure that we obviously finish in the eight and secure that. And our next game will not be easy, TS Galaxy are a good team, tough team.
“But it's going to be a six pointer, if we ever want to stand that chance of finishing the top four.”
“It was a great opportunity to get the three points [against Kaizer Chiefs], we dominated and had a lot of opportunities but I have to give credit to my guys, we have to keep going,” Sead Ramovic said.
