Tom Hanks is coming to the Liverpool Empire

Tom Hanks is heading to the city for a special event at the Liverpool Empire theatre.

Fans are being invited to join the Hollywood actor, director, and writer to celebrate the publication of his debut novel. Tom Hanks released the book - The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece - in May this year.

Live on stage, the 67-year-old will be discussing his novel about the making of a star-studded, multimillion-dollar superhero action film inspired by a comic book.

Tom Hanks will be exploring why he created the novel and how he wanted to capture the changes in American culture over the past 80 years.

He is also set to share the inspiration behind his colourful cast of characters. He will also touch on how he drew on his own career in Hollywood. Each live ticket holder will receive a copy of The Making of Another Motion Picture Masterpiece.
