Tottenham youngster Alfie Devine has sealed a season-long loan move to League One side Port Vale as he looks to continue his development
Alfie Devine has departed Tottenham to join League One side Port Vale on a season-long loan deal. Making a real impression at the football club following his switch from Wigan Athletic in July 2020, the 19-year-old has been a regular in first-team training at Spurs over the past couple of years and has gone on to make two senior appearances for the club.
“We are delighted to be welcoming Alfie to the club and we’re looking forward to seeing him develop on and off the pitch with us here at Vale Park," he told Port Vale's official website. “He’s an exciting young player who shows a maturity beyond his years on the pitch and that comes as a result of the elite environments he has already experienced with Tottenham and England.
“It’s testament to the progress the club is making on and off the pitch that top clubs are now trusting us with their best young talent, he will have the support of the staff and the players as we help him to grow. He will also have a part to play with our own younger players and is an example of what hard work and dedication to your career can help you achieve.”
Devine will be hoping to make his debut for the Valiants over the next week with league games against Carlisle United and Oxford United coming either side of their Carabao Cup Round 2 clash at home to Crewe on Tuesday evening.
