Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to €100m transfer fee for England captain Harry Kane by German club Bayern Munich according to reports by The Athletic. However, the 30-year-old who was reportedly leaning towards staying at Spurs, now has to make a decision.
Kane has 320 appearances in the Premier League and has scored 213 goals and provided 50 assists in the process.
The Tottenham star is not only the club’s all time leading goal scorer, but also sits at the second spot of having the most number of goals in Premier League history, just 47 away from Alan Shearer’s 260-goal record.
He also has 58 goals in 84 appearances for the England senior national team.
Should the deal be sealed it would be the biggest transfer in Bundesliga history. German media said the clubs were preparing the contracts but the player still had to pass a medical in Munich.
The Bavarians, who won the league for a record 11th successive time last season, have been desperate to bring Kane in as they look to boost their attack and battle for the Champions League title once more.
The 1.88 meters tall striker is a strong presence in the penalty box and his proficiency in the air makes him the perfect player to get on the end of the crosses which Bayern’s wingers and full-backs send into the box.
For Bayern, a team who very often face Bundesliga sides who sit deep within their own half, such a player is crucial for scoring against low blocks.
Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel – who now holds much greater influence over club transfers courtesy of a board reshuffle in May – sees the Englishman as the perfect solution to Bayern’s problems.
