Tottenham have been sent a clear message by the club's supporters when it comes to their transfer plans in the summer market. Making a real statement last summer with players such as Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven and James Maddison signing on the dotted line in N17, Spurs once again were active in the winter transfer market.
At a time when the vast majority of Premier League clubs didn't make a single move in the January window, Tottenham confirmed the loan signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and also the permanent addition of Radu Dragusin from Genoa. That wasn't to be the end of their transfer dealings, however.
Despite the window closing for business at 11pm last Thursday evening, Tottenham announced the addition of Lucas Bergvall from Swedish side Djurgarden the following day. The central midfielder, who put pen-to-paper on his 18th birthday, will link up with the rest of the Spurs first-team squad at the beginning of July.
Making big strides in terms of strengthening their squad over the past two transfer windows, Tottenham fans will be hopeful that Johan Lange can seal a few more transfers for Ange Postecoglou ahead of the 2024/25 season. So what position is a priority for the club in the summer transfer market?
In a football.london poll following the January transfer window, 44% of respondents said that a new forward is top of the list for the club in the summer. Losing Harry Kane on the eve of the current Premier League season, Spurs have played both Richarlison and Son Heung-min through the middle and both have delivered on the goal front.
