Vera Pauw, speaking for the first time since the FAI decision not to renew her contract, says the Association's post-World Cup review was 'flawed' and its outcome was 'pre-determined'.
The Dutch coach saw her time in charge of the Girls in Green come to an end this week after the FAI Board decided not to extend her tenure.
The FAI's director of football, Marc Canham had led a post-tournament review which consisted of feedback from Pauw, her staff and the players.
"I believe that the review process which the Association has carried out was flawed," Pauw's statement reads, "and that the outcome was pre-determined. Indeed, some discussions were held with players and staff before and during the World Cup which undermined my position and had an impact on our teambuilding process."
The experienced coach also accuses FAI executives of undermining her during her time in charge, which saw the country qualify for a first Women's World Cup.
"My advice - coming from my knowledge and experience - was often disregarded and not respected," Pauw says. "In my opinion, no head coach in the world would accept interference of the executives in technical football affairs. Unfortunately, trust broke down between me and certain people in the FAI."
