Olympique de Marseille’s UEFA Europa League campaign came to an end with a whimper in Bergamo. Atalanta strolled to a 3-0 victory (agg. 4-1), setting up a final against Bayer Leverkusen in Dublin in just under two weeks time.
Marseille never gained a foothold in the match. The two sides headed into the second-half level after a 1-1 draw in the Vélodrome a week earlier. However, there was a gulf in class between Atalanta and Marseille in Bergamo. Often this season, OM have turned to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to make the difference.
