Having helped Barcelona secure the signing of Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense recently, the 18-year-old striker’s agent, Andre Cury, has promised another ‘bomb’ player for the club in the future.
Barça secured Roque’s signing from Athletico, making the official announcement earlier this week. The deal cost the Blaugrana €30 million in fixed fee, while there is a variable component of €31 million included.
The youngster will be arriving in the summer of 2024 given the club’s economic situation and Financial Fair Play issues, although efforts are being made to bring forth his arrival to January.
Cury confirmed that Roque had more lucrative offers from clubs such as Manchester United and Tottenham, but he opted for Barcelona as money was never a matter of consideration.
The agent, a former scout for Barça, played a key role in the operation, along with the club’s new sporting director, Deco.
And now, Cury has gone on to claim that he has another top prospect lined up for Barcelona for the future.
Speaking in an interview on El Larguero, he said: “We have another bomb for Barcelona in the future.”
Responding to that, journalist Santi Ovalle speculated that the player in question could be Estevao of Palmeiras, saying: “He’s called Estevão Willian.”
The 16-year-old attacker is regarded as the next big prospect coming up in Brazil following in the footsteps of Vitor Roque and Endrick. Having turned 16 earlier this year, he signed his first professional contract with Palmeiras until 2026.
But several clubs are already showing an interest in the teenage prodigy who is nicknamed ‘Messinho’ due to the similarities in his playing style with Barcelona legend, Lionel Messi.
