We all know Sky Sports moved the game with Luton Town to a Friday night in the hope the world could watch Everton struggle through another relegation dogfight.
With that in mind the results of the week before - the three wins that sealed Premier League safety - made it even more satisfying that this game was not life or death for the Blues.
It was perhaps only the second game in three years without crushing pressure, the other being the final day trip to Arsenal with safety assured under Frank Lampard, and it was great to be able to sit down and try to enjoy a match for once. The away end certainly looked like they made the most of the opportunity to have a party and I thought the travelling supporters were brilliant again.

This game might have meant more to Luton, and I know there were parts of the performance that were tough to watch, but given the pressure was off I was pleased with what I saw from Everton. Luton are scrapping for survival and were always going to make this tough. In a hostile environment, it would have been easy for players who have endured another challenging season to have caved under the second half barrage.
Instead we did not see that from this team. The quality may not have always been there and I was disappointed they failed to control the game after Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring. But when it came down to those chaotic final minutes there were players willing to put their bodies on the line to protect a point far less valuable than it would have been a week or two earlier.
