The champagne corks were probably still strewn across the dancefloor of the Titanic Hotel after a rousing send-off for Jurgen Klopp, but Mohamed Salah was looking forwards only.
Having made a social media post to pay tribute to his outgoing boss on Monday, the Liverpool star decided on a rare second later that day, one that appeared to confirm his intentions for the summer.
"It was great sharing all those trophies and experiences with you over the past 7 years," Salah wrote about Klopp. "I wish you the best of luck for the future and hope we meet again."
That message, posted shortly before 7pm on Monday, was followed by another a little an hour later, saying: "We know that trophies are what count and we will do everything possible to make that happen next season. Our fans deserve it and we will fight like hell."
