Callum Smith takes on one of the most feared knockout specialists in boxing on Saturday night as he challenges Artur Beterbiev in a world title fight.
Smith is aiming to dethrone the Russian champion, who currently holds the IBF, WBC, and WBO titles. The fight will take place in Canada, with Smith becoming the mandatory challenger for Beterbiev’s WBC belt in a win against Mathieu Bauderlique back in August 2022.
This means that it has now been almost 18 months since Smith’s last fight, with their original date last August having been postponed due to an injury suffered by Beterbiev. He faces a huge task against arguably the most potent knockout specialist in boxing, with Beterbiev having now won all 19 of his fights via stoppage.

The Russian’s most recent victory was on January 28, 2023, when he beat Anthony Yarde in London to retain his WBC, IBF, and WBO light-heavyweight titles. With the fight being promoted by Bob Arum’s Top Rank, it will take place in Quebec, Canada and it could be the venue of Smith’s greatest-ever victory should he prove able to withstand Beterbiev’s power.
Here is how you can follow all of the action.
The bout will take place on Saturday, January 13 at the Videotron Center in Quebec City, Canada.
Coverage of the fight is set to begin at around 2am UK time with the main event set to get underway at 4am on Sunday.
