The 2023/24 Championship season proved once again why it's the best league in the world.
Non-stop drama at both ends of the table climaxed with Leicester City, who looked as if they may have surrendered a 17-point lead atop the table, being crowned champions. Ipswich Town secured their long-awaited return to the Premier League too, defying expectations to grab second spot, while Birmingham City slipped into the third tier for the first time since 1991/92.
There will, of course, be several new names in the division for the 2024/25 campaign, although they are familiar faces. Portsmouth finally escaped the clutches of League One after winning the title and will be joined on their return to the Championship by Derby County.
The more disappointed sides to be playing Championship football next season are the three previously promoted Premier League clubs — Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton Town. It may be a tad underwhelming for supporters after the dreamy clashes in the top tier, but at least victories will be easier to come by.
Here is when clubs in the Championship will learn their fixture list for the new campaign.
