Manchester City and Arsenal have just over a week to prepare for their decisive Champions League showdowns.
The two Premier League sides took on Real Madrid and Bayern Munich respectively in the first-leg of their quarter-final clashes on Tuesday. There is now all to play for as the pair attempt to continue their European journeys.
Manchester City - the reigning Champions League winners - are still attempting to defend the title that they lifted for the first time against Inter Milan last term. They host Spanish giants and habitual winners Real Madrid at the Etihad next week.
Elsewhere, Mikel Arteta’s side will be aiming to secure their spot in the last four for the first time since the 2008/09 campaign. The Gunners came up against fellow Premier League side Manchester United back then and ended up losing 4-1 on aggregate.
Attention now turns to their second leg against Bayern Munich. That game will take place at the Allianz Arena in Bavaria.
Much like the first legs, the second legs will take place at the same time. Arsenal’s trip to Bayern kicks off at 8pm BST on Wednesday, April 17.
Manchester City will also be getting underway against Real Madrid at the same time on the same day. That game is due to take place at the Etihad Stadium.
The draw for the semi finals has already been completed. Arsenal and Manchester City could potentially face off.
Should the Gunners beat Bayern and Man City overcome Real Madrid, then they will face each other. Elsewhere, the victors of Atletico Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain vs Barcelona will take on each other.
