Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is the latest player to be linked with a summer transfer to Arsenal.
The north Londoners have already spent in excess of £200million to recruit Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber during the summer window, although Mikel Arteta's side don't appear to be finished with their spending just yet. According to The Athletic, the Gunners are keen on signing a new 'keeper to compete with current no.1 Aaron Ramsdale.
The Bees are yet to receive an offer for Raya, with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Bayern Munich all recently mooted as other potential destinations for the player. But Arsenal may have a clear advantage in the race to sign the Spanish international due to their current goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana.
Cana arrived at the Emirates Stadium in 2019, having previously been on the books at Brentford. In fact, the 47-year-old was instrumental in Raya joining the west London club from Blackburn back in 2019.
The pair's relationship could very well be one of the reasons the talented shot-stopper is said to prefer a move to the Gunners over Bayern. Writing on Twitter, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano said: «David Raya prefers Arsenal move over Bayern.
