Jurgen Klopp has called on Liverpool to be more conscious in their defending after falling to a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in Singapore.
Despite early goals from Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk at the Singapore National Stadium, the Bundesliga champions, controversially, levelled the scoring before half-time with two direct passes through Liverpool's defence.
Operating in a 3-2-2-3 formation, right-sided defender Joel Matip was caught out for the Germans' first goal when he failed to follow the run of Serge Gnabry, who was played through one-on-one with the Cameroonian after a direct pass from team-mate Kim Min-Jae.
The second for Thomas Tuchel's side, meanwhile, came in similar circumstances after the Reds had committed too many players into the final third and were therefore punished with a fast-break, once again led by Gnabry.

Speaking after the game, the Liverpool boss admitted he was pleased with his side's overall performance despite the sloppy manner of conceding to Tuchel's side. However, he cited the need for both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Matip to react better to the early stages of play down Liverpool's right-hand side.
"Around the goals, obviously not that great, but there were a lot of other moments that were really, really good as well," said Klopp in his post-match press conference. "The last line was good. We have to still adjust."
