Manchester United came into the January transfer window in desperate need of a striker and their worries have only grown since.
The Red Devils are without the services of French forward Anthony Martial after he underwent surgery. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford was ruled out for Sunday’s FA Cup victory against Newport as boss Erik ten Hag deals with an “internal” matter.
Those two situations have left Man United’s attacking options decimated. That could potentially see the Red Devils make a late move for another forward over the closing days of the January transfer window.

A name that has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, the Stuttgart forward could represent a bargain option. He has a £17.5m release clause written into his current contract.
Given Guirassy’s form this season, that would be a price worth paying. Ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, he had scored 19 goals in just 16 games in all competitions - form that has seen him rival ex-Red Devils target Harry Kane.
Staying in the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda has also been in stunning form this season following a summer move from Lens. The young Belgian has 17 goals to his name this season.
It was previously reported that Openda had been identified as a serious target for the Red Devils ahead of the January window. A deal might be difficult to do though. Leipzig would likely put a high price tag on their star forward, while he also has four-and-a-half years left on his contract.
Another option from the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich forward Choupo-Moting appears to be the most realistic signing for the Red Devils. The former Stoke and PSG forward has already been linked
