Crystal Palace are set to sack Roy Hodgson, talkSPORT understands.
The Eagles are stepping up their interest in former Frankfurt boss Olivier Glasner to be ready for Hodgson's departure.
Chairman Steve Parish ideally wanted Hodgson to remain in charge until his contact expires in the summer but his hand has been forced after a dismal run of three wins in 19 games.
Austrian Glasner has managed four different teams over a ten-year period, last being in charge German side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Glasner guided Frankfurt to Europa League glory in his first season in charge where they beat Rangers on penalties in the final.
The 49-year-old has also been in charge of Wolfsburg and Austrian sides LASK and SV Ried.
Former England manager Hodgson looks set to leave Selhurst Park as a manager for a second time.
Hodgson was reappointed in March 2023 after Patrick Vieira was dismissed following a poor run of results.
After successfully guiding the Eagles to safety Hodgson signed a one-year deal.
However, he's not expected to see out that contract with Palace in danger of sleepwalking into the relegation zone.
Palace are 15th in the Premier League table with 24 points in as many games with six wins, six draws and 12 defeats.
Their most recent outing saw them suffer a 3-1 defeat at home to Chelsea despite being 1-0 up at half time on Monday night.
