Chris Sutton did not hold back in his assessment of Sheffield United on It's All Kicking Off, slamming the Blades after their 'humiliating' 6-0 defeat by Arsenal at Bramall Lane on Monday.
Capitalising on a woeful defensive display from the hosts, Mikel Arteta's rampant side scored three quick goals inside 15 minutes and extended their lead to five before half time, with many Blades fans having already left the stadium in protest.
Arsenal, who despite keeping over 80 per cent of possession seemed to take their foot off the gas in the second half, still added a sixth through Ben White just before the hour mark, taking Sheffield United's tally of goals conceded to an incredible 50 from 27 games this season.
Blades boss Chris Wilder admitted after the match that his players were 'broken' in the dressing room after enduring the embarrassing defeat, with his side now 11 points from safety at the foot of the Premier League table.
Mail Sport's Football Editor Ian Ladyman struggled to think of a worse Premier League performance than Sheffield United's when he and Sutton reflected on Monday night during this week's episode of the podcast.
'That half an hour at Bramall Lane on Monday was, by a stretch, the worst Premier League team performance I've seen in doing this job for 23, 24 years,' Ladyman said.
'It was extraordinarily bad. Arsenal could have scored 10 had they wished. I'd have scored if I had been playing for Arsenal! You certainly would.
