Guardiola insists there is no room for error as he demands a perfect record

Pep Guardiola says Manchester City will need a perfect end to the season to secure a fourth straight Premier League title.

City remain a point behind leaders Arsenal and level on points with Liverpool, who face Manchester United on Sunday.

Asked if City need to win all their remaining games to win the title, Guardiola replied: 'Yeah. It's three top teams. I would say we arrive at the end with a small margin of difference.'

But as well as chasing Premier League glory, Man City remain competitive in the Champions League, and have a speedy turnaround before they face off with Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night.

Guardiola admitted that the packed schedule had allowed errors to creep into the Treble-winners' game.

'We were not solid like we normally are in terms of organisation, transition, but especially we gave away the first goal, but this is more a consequence for the fact that three days, three days, three days,' Guardiola said.

'The mental energy that we waste more than physicality is tremendous and that's why sometimes that happens.'

After Kevin De Bruyne scored twice in a 4-2 comeback win at Crystal Palace and reach 100 goals for the club, the City boss said: 'Today Kevin won the game.

'Without Kevin today maybe we would not be able to win, so when we talk about tactics, about managers, having players like Kevin in these kinds of games, it's easy.

'I listen to him on the bus, in the locker room, in the training session, (he) laughs, and we are safe. His body language dictates a lot how he is, and all the players, but especially Kevin.
