Although the Premier League has emerged as frontrunner among France forward Moussa Diaby’s potential destinations this summer, the Bayer Leverkusen man has also been targeted as part of Saudi Arabia’s lucrative offensive on European football.
According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Al-Nassr – the Riyadh-based club where Cristiano Ronaldo plays – intend to submit an opening offer worth between €35m and €40m for the former Paris Saint-Germain man. Aston Villa as well as Napoli are also in the race for the 24-year-old.
The winger has been in prolific form for the Bundesliga side, registering 31 goals in all competitions over the last two seasons. Diaby was also part of the France team that lifted the Nations League title in 2021, although he was not involved in last year’s run to the World Cup final.
However, Al-Nassr are provisionally banned from registering new players by FIFA over alleged missed transfer payments – a situation which has stalled Lens captain Séko Fofana’s move to the Gulf state.
