Ange Postecoglou has named his Premier League squad for the coming months and now the Tottenham players can see who they are competing with for a spot in his starting XI.
The Australian has a very different-looking Spurs squad after 13 players left this summer, including all-time top goalscorer Harry Kane, and he has brought seven new faces in through the door, as well as Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro joining the club permanently after the options within their loan contracts were taken up.
Former Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris was included in Postecoglou's squad after the 36-year-old World Cup winner looked for the next challenge in his long career but could not find one.
With so few fixtures this season as Spurs have no European competition to play in for the first time in 14 years and they also exited the Carabao Cup in the second round last month, they are left with only Premier League games in 2023 before the FA Cup returns in January next year.
That means that the players on the outskirts of Postecoglou's starting XI will have to work even harder on the training pitches at Hotspur Way to get his attention as match minutes will be sparse.
