Alfie Devine admits that Ange Postecoglou is always watching his Tottenham players but that it's no bad thing.
The 18-year-old is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Spurs' academy, having been snapped up from Wigan Athletic three years ago. Devine is also the club's youngest ever goalscorer in its history, having netted as a 16-year-old substitute in an FA Cup tie at Marine under Jose Mourinho.
The teenager has just returned from his first experience of a pre-season tour with Tottenham, visiting Australian and Asia and he impressed with a 45-minute cameo against West Ham in the opening game in Perth, moving from his normal central attacking midfield role to a right wing one.
He tormented the Hammers defence with his movement and it was his saved shot from a tight angle that resulted in the corner Destiny Udogie scored from.
Before jetting back home, Devine sat down to talk withfootball.london about his experiences on his first tour with a new head coach in Postecoglou.
«Playing against West Ham was really good. I really enjoyed it. I didn't find out I was playing right wing until the morning of the game but I enjoyed it,» he said. «I'll play any position as long as I can get minutes, which is important. That game I thought we did really well, both first half and second half it was a good performance.»
